Sausage Biscuits & Gravy

Appliances/Tools Needed

  • Stovetop

  • Conventional oven

  • Flat baking sheet or cookie sheet

  • Medium pot or large frying pan

  • Cooking spoon

  • Spatula 

  • Serving dish and utensil


Ingredients

  • 1 can of 8 Jumbo buttermilk biscuits

  • Cooking spray

  • 1 roll of Breakfast sausage 

  • All purpose flour

  • Milk

  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes


Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (or temperature listed on biscuit label)

  2. Spray the baking sheet with cooking spray then arrange biscuit dough on a baking sheet at least an inch apart. Allow to bake for 13-15 min (or time listed on biscuit label)

  3. Heat medium pot or large frying pan on medium high heat

  4. Add cooking spray and add breakfast sausage. Allow to cook while simultaneously breaking up the sausage

  5. Once fully cooked, lower heat to medium and add in your flour while mixing until thoroughly combined

  6. Gradually add in the milk while stirring to allow the gravy to thicken

  7. Reduce heat to medium low and season to taste. Once preferred consistency is achieved, serve on top of finished biscuits
